Butterflies are amongst natures most beautiful and delicate creatures.
At Butterfly World Coombs we provide a contained facility designed to replicate the natural environment of it's residents that hail from South America and Asia. Our greenhouse features densely planted tropical host plants, as well as a pond housing colourful goldfish, that provides essential moisture to the environment. Strolling along the path through the greenhouse you will find an Emerging Area filled with Pupa's in the Chrysalis stage. Watch a butterfly emerge from a chrysalis to transform from a clumsy insect into a flying jewel of brilliant colour. Check out the eggs of the butterfly or watch the caterpillars devour a plant before your eyes... you can actually hear them as they munch away. They double their weight daily!

Accessible through the green house you will find the Outdoor Butterfly Garden. This area is populated with local plants and shrubs that attract wild native butterflies as well as birds and a variety of other beneficial insects. Here too, we have an outdoor pond to help create a symbiotic environments for these local plants, birds and insects to thrive.
